‘Woh 3 Din’ (2022) Review — Absurdity at Its Best

Woh 3 Din is just one of those films that is hard to describe in a few words. It’s whimsical, funny, weird, seemingly directionless, and yet an absolute delight.

If I had to try, I would describe this movie as an example of the chaotic good.

Even though there is so much going on, you, as the viewer, will not feel like you’re being left behind. So, let’s break down what makes Woh 3 Din such a unique film in the Indian space.

When to Watch Woh 3 Din — For when you want an eclectic mix of comedy and mystery

Woh 3 Din Review — A Deep Dive

From funny fights over biryani to heartbreaking depictions of a poor father struggling to pay his daughter’s fees, Woh 3 Din has it all in terms of emotions.

What’s so interesting about this film is that it mostly relies on a very absurd form of comedy not seen often in Indian cinema. But Woh 3 Din makes you want more such movies.

It’s quite hard to categorise this movie into one particular genre; it has crime, mystery, comedy, and drama, and yet Woh 3 Din does not feel overdone. This quality, in my opinion, qualifies the film to stand in its own league.

In the spirit of total transparency, the dynamic between the characters is quite weird. Ram Bharose is a poor rickshaw puller who dreams about funding his daughter’s education. Very early, it is established that he is a good guy — so it’s really easy to root for him.

When his path crosses with the mystery man, we see another side of the protagonist in addition to the intense energy of his passenger.

Given the huge difference in their personalities and ultimate goals, the interactions between Ram Bharose and the mystery man are discomforting. It’s this weird tension that creates the harmonious blend of comedy and suspense that sets Woh 3 Din apart.

In other words, the script relies heavily on absurdity as the driver of comedy, and this is the film’s biggest strength.

Woh 3 Din is also just a cute film!

There’s a moment where it references a 60s Bollywood song which is great if you’re a classic movie buff, and the climax also has a cheeky shoutout to… (don’t worry, there are no spoilers here!)

It really feels like everything in the film — from the music to the locations and outfits — has been given a lot of thought. Nothing feels rushed or out of place, and the actors really embody the characters they bring alive on the screen.

Woh 3 Din Plot Overview

Ram Bharose is a poor rickshaw puller in debt who works hard but earns very little. However, he has a dream he will never give up on — his daughter’s education.

One day, a mysterious man approaches the protagonist with an offer. Ram Bharose can earn Rs. 3,000 in 3 days if he takes the man to his destination without asking any questions.

Ram Bharose initially feels like this man is a godsend. However, he soon realises there is more to the deal than meets the eye.
